In the age of headphones, music has become increasingly portable and private. The pipe organ rebels against that. You must come to it, and they are generally installed in the most public of places where great crowds can gather. Each organ is different from the next since they are all custom built and voiced according to the building they are in. It's for that reason that I enjoy trying out the pipe organ wherever I travel.
